Nagraj
was born in the Takshaknagar ruled by his father Takshakraj and his
mother Lalita. The couple had no child so one day they prayed before
their god Kaljayi, who blessed them with a son. But one day the king's
evil brother, who wanted to take over the thrown decides to overthrow
the King so he replaces the worship material of the God with a dead
mongoose. The snake god got annoyed with this act of the Queen and
knocked her off with his venomous breath. The King pleads for his
Queen's life the God then gives him a crystal which promises to cure
her. The crystal removes the venom from the Queens body and transfers to
her unborn child, thus the child who is future Nagraj is born dead. His
deadbody is then flown into the river, whereas Queen loses her
fertility.
The venom filled body of young Nagraj reaches Naagdweep (Snake Island)
where the ruler Maniraj is ordered by the gods to help this child. He
follows the orders and starts healing the child. But one day the child
is kidnapped by Vishandhar an evil plotter who wants to rule the island.
But scared of the God's rage he decides to leave the child in a temple
where a priest hands over Nagraj to Professor Nagmani. Professor is an
evil man himself, who collects venom and researches on snakes. On
finding mystical powers in young child and such deadly venom in him he
decides to use Nagraj as a weapon and puts him into evil works. Nagraj
meanwhile grows up to be a young man.
One day during his acts of crime Nagraj is caught by Baba Gorakhnath who
is a sage, seeing the good part of Nagraj, Baba catches him and treats
Nagraj's evil thoughts which Professor Nagmani had granted him by brain
washing Nagraj. Since that day Nagraj becomes an enemy of criminals and
is fighting crime.
Nagraj
has 5 main powers and abilities which help him in fighting crime. Apart
from having all the abilities of a snake he can do the following :-
1) Crawl on walls:- He can crawl on walls sticking like a snake even the straightest and tallest pillars seem small infront of him.
2) Snake Rope:- He uses snake rope made by snakes,
which he shoots from his hands to travel from building to building much
like Spiderman or Tarzan.
3) Venomous Breath:- With his ability to use venomous breath our superhero knocks off many criminals dead or unconscious.
4) Icchadhari Power:- Change at will, our superhero can
change his looks at will this is called the Icchadhari power which only
the high powered snakes have.
5) Venomous Bite:- Fatal venom flows in the body of Nagraj called Hallahal, if he bites someone the person melts into air.
Apart from these abilities he has special snake friends like Saudangi,
and Sheetnaag who live inside his body and come out in human form to
help him and fight crime. Nagraj himself has great fighting abilities he
knows various fighting styles and martial arts, his body heals quickly
making him bulletproof.
